Nine suspected Boko Haram terrorists were liquidated by the troops of the 7th Division, Nigerian Army in in Rimanti Alagarno villages of Damboa local government area of Borno state on November 14, 2013, Thursday.
The suspected terrorists were killed when the troops of the Division launched an attack on their camps and hideouts on the off shores of the Sambisa Forests.
Lt. Col Muhammad Dole, the Army spokesman, signed the press statement which said the following:
“In a midnight encounter with the Boko Haram terrorists, the Nigerian Army, 7 Division killed nine Boko Haram terrorists, while others fled with various degree of injuries along Rimanti-Alagarno road in Damboa local government area of Borno state on Thursday 14th November 2013″.
The statement added that during the encounter large arms and ammunitions were recovered with the
destruction of 2 pick up vehicles belonging to the terrorists, while a pick up vehicle and 3 motorcycles were equally recovered by the troops.This operation was the retaliation to the series of night attacks by Boko Haram in Borno State, which claimed the lives of 26 people and caused havoc in the area.
