The Experience Lagos reputed to be the biggest gospel concert on the face of the continent took place on Friday December 6, 2013 featuring international gospel artistes Don Moen, Tye Tribbet, Donnie McClurkin, Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams, Sammie Okposo, Midnight Crew and many more.
At a press conference organised by the host church, The House on The Rock to introduce the artistes and give the a glimpse of what to expect at the just concluded concert, popular singer Donnie McClurkin was his affable self making funny jokes and identifying with his ‘Nigerianess’ rechristening himself Adewale meaning ‘our crown has come back.’
The gospel singer, however, surprised all present when he blurted out during the introductions that popular gospel artiste, Yolanda Adams is his fiancee.
McClurkin said, “Yolanda Adams is my fiancee. I’m gonna marry her.”
When asked by the host pastor, Paul Adefarasin, if he was serious about his statement considering the presence of press men, McClurkin replied, “Go ahead. Put it out, put it out!”
And Yolanda Adams’ reply to this? “Donnie, you’re gonna get it!”
Well, we’ll take this exchange as two hilarious folks playing around and nothing more… or is there? Your guess is as good as ours.
McClurkin, who remains single, is an international gospel superstar winning three Grammy Awards, two BET Awards, ten Stellar Awards, two Soul Train Awards and many more accolades for his work at attracting souls to God through his music.
